Workshops on gender-based violence: A typical workshop of ~100 participants costs ~INR 150 per participant. A workshop provides the opportunity to a young school or college student to participate in a learning and exploration process of the relevance of their gender in his/her life and is conducted by trained gender facilitators. We have previously conducted workshops in Gurgaon, Meerut, Alwar, Roorkee, Delhi and Noida.
Pukar – Our technology project in partnership with the Police for emergency safety: Implementation of Pukar in one district with ~100,000 smartphone users costs ~INR 300,000 (INR 3 per user). While the app itself is free (you may try it on your android phone), this covers the cost of connecting with the police, outreach, events and technical support. Pukar is a city-level project as it works in tight partnership with the local police. In a city with ~1 million people, Pukar has the potential to impact ~10% of the population directly. It is also the foot in the door we need to bring our gender movement to the city and mobilize like-minded people for social change and gender equity.
Other forms of participation: Connecting us with potential partners for our program. These include-
- Senior police officials
- School and college heads in Chandigarh, Delhi, Alwar, Nainital, Roorkee
- CSR programs/corporates focused on gender, women’s empowerment, equality, safety
- Local NGOs or youth groups in the above mentioned cities
